A Toolkit for Transgender and Gender Diverse-Affirming Health Communication

A collaborative study that identifies and explores potential barriers to care generated through non-TGD tailored health communication aimed at preventative health (e.g., diabetes, colorectal cancer, cervical cancer). Through a community-based, iterative development process, we are partnering with trans folks to develop a toolkit to guide the development trans-affirming health communication and promotion activities.

 

The developed toolkit will be piloted by health communication practitioners to develop trans-affirming materials for specific health conditions. These materials will then be reviewed by the community in a dialogue focus group with the aim to refine the toolkit for future efficacy and acceptability testing.
